Why We Recommended It
Timer for Workouts - Repeat is currently free on iOS for a limited time, dropping from its usual $5.99 price tag. This isn't just another stopwatch—it's a purpose-built interval timer trusted by athletes and coaches since 2013. Unlike generic countdown apps, Repeat handles every training style you can throw at it: Tabata, HIIT, EMOM, AMRAP, boxing rounds, CrossFit WODs, even yoga holds. The key differentiator?
It keeps running when your phone is locked or you switch apps, delivering audio and notification alerts so you never miss a transition. The audible countdown (configurable from 3 to 10 seconds) prepares you for each phase, while full-screen landscape mode lets you see the timer from across the gym with color-coded work/rest indicators. If you need a reliable, no-nonsense workout timer that stays out of your way, this is the most lightweight and capable choice right now. Set your intervals, name your timers, and press start—Repeat does the rest. At zero cost, it's the perfect moment to grab a tool that would normally cost you $5.99 and will pay for itself in saved time and frustration.

User Reviews
I’ve been trying to use the Repeat Timer pro paid for version over and over many times for the past few years. It continues to fail to meet my expectations. I’m sorry. It’s a well built app, but the user experience has some serious issues. 1) if you put the phone in your pocket while you’re using it, it’s constantly shutting off the timer and changing it switching it between different modes and timers You can’t run with this thing. 2) the timer clicks and notification noises are not very loud, so if you try to listen to music at the same time, your music just drowns out the timer clicks and beeps and doesn’t work. 3) Shutting off the screen to prevent miss operation doesn’t solve because none of the chimes sound and nothing sounds loud enough. It’s not hands-free operation. What I need is hands-free operation something where I can tell it what I wanna do what interval interval for intensity interval and for rest interval, and then be able to put it in my pocket and go run. It just doesn’t let you do that.

This app is a game changer. Several years ago I needed surgery on my hand, and then went for occupational therapy. The occupational therapist said that, for musicians, they love it when we practice 25 minutes and then take a 5 minute break, then repeat. So I set the main timer for 25 and the interval timer for 5. After a few of these 25-5 sessions it’s important to take a longer break. This timer helps me to stay within those suggested parameters. I also use the app for other activities, but for musical practice it’s very helpful.
