Why We Recommended It
Normally priced at $0.99, Neo Monsters is now free on iOS—and while it’s listed under Productivity, this is actually a deep monster-battling RPG that puts a premium on strategic efficiency. With over 1,000 fully animated creatures to capture, train, and evolve, the game challenges you to build a balanced team of up to 16 monsters, then chain hundreds of abilities in real-time 4v4 PvP battles. Think of it as Pokémon meets chess: every turn rewards careful planning, making it far more tactical than typical auto-battlers. If you’re after a time-sink that sharpens your decision-making, Neo Monsters delivers 60+ hours of campaign across six leagues, plus weekly online events. The turn-based combat system is surprisingly responsive, with smooth animations and no noticeable lag even during complicated ability combos—a rarity for a mobile RPG this size. The interface is straightforward: menus clearly display monster stats, evolution paths, and move sets, so you’re never lost. Capturing and upgrading creatures feels streamlined, letting you focus on strategy rather than grind. Now that it’s permanently free (normally $0.99), there’s zero reason not to try one of the most polished monster-collectors on iOS. Grab it while the price drop is active.

User Reviews
I've been playing Neo Monsters for a while now, and one thing I see wrong with it is that many mythical monsters on neo monsters are sexualized women. The most recent monster, in particular, doesn't have a bra which is something that shouldn't be in a 9+ game. The game isn't bad by any means. Still, I feel that of your going to add humanoid monsters that look like humans as monsters, you should probably also do the same for males, yes I can understand that having women portrayed like that would get some more people to play it, but wouldn't it be best to do both genders? In general, I've always felt that humanoid monsters in this game aren't monsters. They're more of just supernatural beings. There's a reason why no Pokemon look humanoid (gardevoir doesn't look human. They're green). Now yeah, I'm pretty sure no one is going to read this, but still, as I said before, this is a 9+ game; at the moment, I feel this game should be a 17+ or maybe 13+. I'm currently 16, and I don't want to see a highly sexualized woman every time I play this game, but that's just me, and there's most likely more people that feel this way.

It’s a really good game but it’s your classic pay to win game, you need gems to get better monsters, the best monsters are hard to get because of their low drop rate, gems are hard to get and the real problem here is that GEMS ARE SUPER EXPENSIVE, they make their game currency really expensive, that has made a bunch of people I know stop playing, you need good mythical monsters to be able to stand a chance against the future enemies and rivals in the story, if not you’re gonna spend hours trying to figure out what’s the best team you can have against that certain enemy, just make gems cheaper or make every single gold monster egg worth 3 gems, 30 gems for 10 monsters, that would make the community grow and also try change the story a little so we can modify our character and make it look like ourselves, that would be pretty nice too. Thank you.

As an old school gamer one of THE most frustrating things about games today are the paywalls/time walls. I can not begin to articulate my utter contempt for a games like that, which so obviously designed to bleed your wallet. This game is NOTHING like that. If you want to play for free you absolutely can. You can grind it out just like EVERY game used to be in the “good ole days.” You can play for as long as you want, when you want. If you are one of those people who just can’t put the effort in (why play a game like this?) you can pay to accelerate your progress buy buying RNG eggs to get some OP monsters. The story is killer, love the graphics, the monsters names/builds are well done and it’s gameplay is solid? An absolute steal for 1$ Please make an expansion with another good story, I would happily purchase.
