Why We Recommended It
Idyoma: Language Exchange is currently free for a limited time, dropping from its usual $4.99 to $0. This isn't just another vocabulary drill app — it's a social platform that connects you with native speakers for genuine conversation practice. Unlike dating apps disguised as language exchanges, Idyoma focuses purely on learning: you can swipe to find partners nearby or worldwide, chat via text with instant translation, and even schedule 6-minute voice sessions to build fluency. The built-in Pen Pal program fosters deeper connections over time, while group chats and local meetups add a community feel. If you're learning Spanish, Korean, or any language and crave real-world practice instead of flashcards, Idyoma is a lightweight yet powerful tool that makes speaking confidently accessible. Normally $4.99, now free — grab it before the offer ends and start chatting with native speakers today.

User Reviews
The app is easy to use straightforward. It has basic lessons like flashcards like Duolingo plus language exchange so you could connect with other people around the world and practice with them. I noticed there is a chat bot that was actually really helpful so before I had the courage to speak with other language learners, I chatted a bit with the bot which increase my confidence overall good app, friendly design straightforward everything worked.

Please add more language options like Hebrew (modern and biblical) and Yiddish. I can be helping people out with my language skills, but I have no option to add the languages I’m fluent with. The same problem goes for languages I want to study and have no way to add to my profile and get matched with users who might be able to help me. I’m not clear why the app has such a limited language list when it provides no content and is entirely user dependent to make study buddies for learning together. I would understand a limited list if the app was generating lesson content like other popular platforms, but it makes no sense in this case where Idyoma is for making study buddies and isn’t really providing any educational material for students to learn languages. The language list has been the same for at least the 2-3 years since I first tried this app. I keep hoping that the list will be expanded to nearly every language under the sun so students can find matches for some interesting languages out there, so I’m not sure why the developers limit the available language list to about 25 languages (give or take). Hope to see this changed ASAP — it shouldn’t be too difficult for the developers to implement a way to let users select from a list of many more languages and/or add languages by typing them in ourselves. Thanks!
